in None

brand new blog re-design 3.0After working diligently an entire morning & afternoon on my homemade custom CSS blog re-design I decided to take a break and go craft something. Unfortunately, after climbing out on the roof and discovering that it was too windy to spray paint effectively I high tailed in back inside and stood for a bit, confused. You see the hand-holding-man-friend is out of town for weekend and the ‘Rooms is off working in California and without any human interaction I was left to my own devices for entertainment. Which is good really, a weekend to get some work done never killed anyone, as my weeknights tend to be filled with yoga and HGTV streaming.

So after making another pot of coffee, taking some pictures of the cat, and snacking on some jalapeno hummus I got right back on the horse computer and decided to treat myself to some quality Pinterest time. I think it had been about 23 hours since my last pin, and well, my fellow pinners, you know that’s just about an eternity in pinning years. (SIDE NOTE: I DID JUST USE SOME FORM OF THE WORD PIN ABOUT 17 TIMES IN THAT LAST SENTENCE, I’M BLAMING COFFEE)

Now here’s the thing about Pinterest. It’s an endless rabbit hole of inspiration and images and hyperlinked goodies. But it can also be a huge time-suck when you fall in love with something only to find that the pinner HAS NOT PINNED FROM A PERMALINK!?!?!?!!?!? and you’re sent on a wild goose chase on the hyper-link highway to find the image source you were looking for in the first place. Now, this is a highway hazard I’m willing to accept and sometimes a detour doesn’t kill you and you wind up happening upon something unexpected you didn’t even know you were looking for.

See my coffee and desperation fueled example below.

an illustrated Pinterest journeyIf you would like to follow the journey tab open 1, 2, 3, 4, 5! Click ’em and tell me where the bread crumbs lost their way and comment below! Now everybody hug, we’re all friends on the internet. Happy accidents occur from time to time.

And that, folks, is how I have a sparkly gold bokeh lookin’ blog background right now. I kind like it. I’m on the fence about blog backgrounds in general but hey, I’ll go with it for now until I decide on that header image business. Thanks for stopping by!
