Neon is the new neutral

 neon home decor inspiration

The ‘Rooms and I were sitting amidst the boxes and clutter after the weekend of packing and were talking decor and such while pinning things we can’t afford to the new apartment Pinterest board. I made some kind of off hand comment that went something along the lines of “Neon is more neutral than you think.” Which of course got posted immediately to Facebook and went over like wild-fire. The ‘Rooms is admittedly against it, but his followers were pretty pro. Neon is EVERYWHERE right now. I’m really into it in a mod minimal way. I’ll have to sneak it in somewhere into my “wing” of the apartment, and three months from now if/when the ‘Rooms comes around to the idea, we’ll add it to the living room.

I’m always a “to each their own kind of camp” if you hate a trend, then don’t put it on your body or in your home. I’m also more of a collector of things I love than a decorator or designer when it comes to my home and wardrobe. Trying not to stress over this move by getting caught up in filling the space with new things for the sake of things. We’ll live, we’ll love, and maybe there will be some neon.

What side are you on? Over it or loving it? Terrified you’ll go too far and transport yourself back to the Fresh Prince era?

I am in the camp of…..no. I prefer ‘bright’ to ‘neon’. I find that neon yells too loud. Bright only shouts!
