The Tuesday that’s really a Monday debacle

in None, Work

mondays are hard

Hey internet, how was your day back after a hopefully great long weekend? Were you raring to go, or did you feel like Sophie and just want to throw an arm over your eyes in the hopes that maybe that bright light would be a dream filled with unlimited kibbles and alone time?

About halfway through my morning I looked around the cubicle and realized I was just feeling off. Was it Tuesday, was in Monday? Was all my unspent negative Monday energy releasing itself into its unsuspecting neighbor? Did I have jet lag from the long weekend and my natural office defense shield was down? Unable to pinpoint the source of my general malcontent I just got through my day, and we agreed to meet at the same time same place tomorrow and try to make it better.

How about you, what do you do coming back from a long weekend to jog yourself back to “go mode?” The general consensus of the socials today was that I was not alone. Is it hot where you are? Tell me your story below, let’s get it all out so we conquer hump day like it’s the senior prom. See you at the punch bowl.

I was Sophie this morning! I think it’s the horrible heat that is setting in for the summer with it’s oppressive humidity. And maybe a bit from yesterdays sunburn… It is exciting to think tomorrow is hump day already though. That makes the screwy Tuesday totally worth it.

I mostly felt like I was wandering around like “is this real life?” The faces walking toward me on the sidewalk were all equally dazed. Very strange.

I think the daze had something to do with the fact that every time I stepped outside I felt like I was inhaling Miso Soup…that hot, damp, sheer feeling of “eww”. But I did get a baguette from Pain d’Avignon, which was pure Paris in my mouth. So that was exciting:-)

for some strange reason, when it’s hot out I am less capable of eating my feelings. which is pretty much an abomination to everything I stand for.
